Cannabis delivery is legal in Massachusetts for adults 21 and over, through operators licensed by the Cannabis Control Commission. You order online, verify your identity with a government-issued photo ID, and a licensed agent brings the order to a residential address in a town that has opted in to allow delivery. Your ID is checked again at the door, and you have to be there in person to receive it.

Delivery is only legal to towns that have opted in to allow it, and your address has to fall inside an active route. Checking at this stage avoids a cancelled order later.

Massachusetts requires identity verification for every delivery order. Doing it up front is what makes the handoff at your door quick.

Because the local option tax is set town by town, the combined rate varies by delivery address and reaches 20% where the full 3% applies.
Why some Massachusetts towns can't get delivery
Massachusetts leaves the decision to each municipality. A town has to affirmatively permit cannabis delivery before any licensed operator can serve an address there — which is why two neighbouring towns can have completely different answers, and why proximity to an active route is not enough on its own.
